The treatment
Two traditions of care, one focused session.
Acupuncture and Tuina come from the same whole-person system of Chinese medicine. Your practitioner begins by looking at the pattern around what you are feeling—not isolating one sore place from the rest of you.
Acupuncture creates the foundation of the visit. Tuina then brings in touch, pressure, and movement where a more physical approach feels useful. The balance changes from visit to visit because your treatment should reflect the person who arrived that day.
A good place to begin
Choose Acupuncture + Tuina when you want…
Neck, shoulder, and back tension
For areas that feel tight, guarded, or difficult to move comfortably.
Headaches and jaw tension
A focused option when the head, neck, and jaw are part of the same pattern.
Mobility and recovery
For bodies returning to movement or working through a stubborn area.
A more hands-on acupuncture visit
For people who want acupuncture paired with focused manual therapy.

A whole-person approach
More than working on the sore spot.
Chinese medicine pays attention to relationships: tension and rest, movement and recovery, the local complaint and the wider pattern. That is why two people who point to the same shoulder may receive different treatments.
Tuina is especially useful when the visit calls for a tactile, movement-oriented layer of care. Your practitioner may work around a specific area or along connected pathways, always adjusting the pressure and pace to you.
Common questions
Before you book
What is Tuina?
Tuina is a hands-on form of Chinese medical bodywork. A session may include acupressure, rhythmic compression, and gentle mobilization selected for what your body needs that day.
How is this different from a massage?
Tuina is integrated into an acupuncture treatment and follows the same individualized Chinese medicine assessment. If you want a full session of bodywork without acupuncture, choose one of our massage treatments instead.
Should I choose 60 or 90 minutes?
Choose 60 minutes for a focused returning visit. The 90-minute option gives your practitioner more room for acupuncture and extended hands-on work.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, loose clothing when possible. Your practitioner will explain positioning and make sure you feel comfortable throughout the treatment.
Start with what is present
Let the visit meet your body where it is.
Book the session that feels closest. Your practitioner will take it from there.
