How It Works

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Lung governs the skin's surface and outer boundary, while the Kidney governs the deep moisture and structural resilience that determines how skin holds up over time. When acupuncture precedes microneedling, circulation is supported from within — improving the environment the microneedling is working with. The skin becomes more responsive to the stimulation, better able to produce collagen, and calmer in recovery.

Microneedling itself creates controlled micro-injuries that trigger the skin's natural healing cascade, stimulating collagen and elastin production. Red light therapy (Celluma) then supports cellular repair through photobiomodulation — reducing inflammation and accelerating the skin's renewal. The three modalities compound each other in a way none can fully replicate alone.

Your Practitioners

Holistic Microneedling is designed to support skin renewal, texture, glow, and regenerative repair while keeping the whole body in view. Your practitioner pairs microneedling with acupuncture, red light therapy, and aftercare guidance so the treatment feels clear, supported, and never rushed.

Dr. Shelby Ramirez (DACM), Dr. Adrienne Nash (DACM), and Dr. Frederica Crafts (DACM) bring Traditional Chinese Medicine training, aesthetic care, and careful attention to skin safety and recovery.

Common Questions

Does microneedling hurt?

Numbing cream is applied before treatment begins, so most patients find the session comfortable. You may feel warmth or mild pressure, but not sharp pain. The acupuncture portion at the start often leaves you in a deeply relaxed state before the skin work begins.

How many sessions do I need?

Meaningful, lasting results typically come from a series of 4 to 6 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Many patients book one session first to assess how their skin responds, then commit to a series. Between deeper sessions, the Osmotic Nano Infusion Facial is designed to maintain momentum with no downtime.

Is there downtime?

Minor redness and sensitivity for about 24 hours is typical. Avoid exercise, sweating, and skin care products for the first 24 hours, and protect your skin from sun exposure for 7 days. Most people look flushed the evening of treatment and noticeably clearer by the following week.

Is it suitable for all skin types?

Yes. Unlike some laser treatments, microneedling does not carry the same risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and is appropriate for all skin tones. We ask that you wait 2 weeks after Botox before booking, and consult with us beforehand if you have active fillers.

Why does this session start with acupuncture?

Starting with acupuncture improves circulation to the skin from within, making it more responsive to the microneedling stimulation and calmer in recovery. It also supports the nervous system, so you arrive at the skin treatment already settled. The two modalities compound each other in a way neither achieves alone.
